and Solutions Inc., a Davey company, is seeking a full-time GIS
Technician specializing in environmental modelling, spatial
analysis, and data management to join our Geospatial services team.
This role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 1 day per week in
office. Job Duties Support the development of company-wide web and
data collection applications using ESRI and CADD software. Conduct
spatial analysis using statistical and/or geoprocessing tools.
Perform vector and raster-based spatial data management and
processing. Contribute to local and regional watershed and land
cover analysis projects. Create and format mapping data and
products for engineers, scientists, and archeologists . Maintain
existing python scripting and collaborate to improve and innovate
through automation. Provide occasional in-person field support of
mobile data collection applications. Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree, and/or Associates in GIS, Geography, Geology,
Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Biology, Ecology,
Natural Resources Management, and/or a Professional Certificate in
GIS. Proficient in managing and processing spatial data within the
ESRI ecosystem (ArcGIS Pro/Online), navigating AutoCAD or
MicroStation, creating interactive web applications with Experience
Builder, and customizing FieldMaps and Survey123 applications.
Experience automating workflows using Python and R, creating
complex database queries in SQL, and customizing GIS applications
with Arcade. Experience in aerial imagery interpretation,
watershed/hydrology modelling, raster analysis (ENVI/ERDAS),
predictive modeling, sustainability/resiliency mapping, and LiDAR
processing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Teams). Additional Requirements Excellent cartographic,
written, and verbal communication skills; with the ability to read
and understand technical and engineering plan drawings. Prepare
data, maps and documents that are technically and grammatically
correct and must be able to communicate clearly with team and
clients. Ability to manage numerous projects and priorities and
willingness to adapt to changing workflows. Provide occasional
in-person field and office support for mobile data collection
applications and GIS/GPS training. Demonstrate success working with
a diverse client base in both public and private sectors, as well
as the ability to work independently and with a team. Experience
with wetland delineations, wetland/stream mitigation and
restoration, drainage area delineation and landcover analysis
(TR-55), stormwater and MS4 permit program, hazard predictability
modeling (FEMA HAZUS) and interest in historic maps is a plus.
Desire to learn quickly, solve problems and take initiative to help
team members and provide best possible deliverables to clients.
