Job Overview The Scientific Technical Writer I position is
responsible for collaborating with USP Scientific Staff and Expert
Volunteers for the overall development of high-quality scientific
and technical materials. The Scientific Technical Writer I will
interface with the other Scientific Technical Writers, Scientific
Liaisons, other internal groups, and external groups, including
Expert Committees and authors, to ensure the accurate and timely
completion, review, and delivery of scientific and technical
materials. How will YOU create impact here at USP? As part of our

you will play a vital role in increasing global access to
high-quality medicines through public standards and related
programs. USP prioritizes scientific integrity, regulatory

quality standards. Additionally, USPs People and Culture division,
in partnership with the Equity Office, invests in leadership and
workforce development to equip all employees with the skills to
create high-performing, inclusive teams. This includes training in
equitable management practices and tools to promote engaged,
collaborative, and results-driven work environments. The Scientific
Technical Writer I has the following responsibilities: Prepares
science communications plans and related content, including blog
posts, articles, and web content, to showcase USP Science. Performs
QC of content, which includes ensuring that references, grammar,
spelling, and formatting are correct. Ensures a consistent style of
presentation of USP content to maintain quality and ease of review.
Prepares annual Council of Experts report, documenting key
accomplishments and activities of USP Expert Volunteers; manages
production process and ensures on-time delivery of final report.
Ensures that content meets customer needs and specifications and
adheres to quality standards for graphics, format, style, and
delivery. Performs proofreading, copyediting, and substantive
editing of scientific and technical content with a focus on
substantive editing for clarity and accuracy, as well as
copyediting for style and grammar. Provides notetaking support for
the Council of Experts official by writing meeting minutes and
notes. Establishes strong working relationships with USP
Leadership, staff, and Expert Volunteers; communicates effectively
and professionally with industry stakeholders, government liaisons,
FDA, and other regulatory staff. Ensures that USP written content
and materials adhere to the correct style, as set forth in the
General Chapter and Stimuli Article Style Guide, USP Minutes Style
Guide, and related resources, e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, ACS,
and AMA. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as
assigned. Participates in special projects when requested. Performs
all other job duties as requested or assigned. Who is USP Looking

competencies and experience: Bachelors degree in a scientific
field, English, communications, journalism, or technical writing.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a scientific or technical
writer. Minimum of 1 year of experience with notetaking. Mastery of
the English language, with a comprehensive understanding and
correct use of English grammar. Strong writing and editing skills.
Ability to identify and summarize key points from highly complex
presentations and discussions. Additional Desired Preferences
Ability to work in a hybrid work environment (onsite twice per
month). Outstanding written communication skills. Knowledge of
researching, writing, editing, and reviewing scientific and
technical documents. Knowledge of pharmaceutical and scientific
research concepts and understanding of scientific data analysis.
Highly detail oriented, paying close attention to accuracy,
consistency, and clarity of the written information. Ability to
manage multiple concurrent projects in a timely manner. Proficient
in Window OS and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint). Proficient in Microsoft Copilot. Strong interpersonal,
communication, and organizational skills. Ability to adapt style
and content for different target audiences. Ability to work
cross-functionally, collaborate, negotiate with, and influence
peers at all levels of the organization. Supervisory
Responsibilities None, this is an individual contributor role.

protected. Compensation Base Salary Range: USD $66,300.00
$82,600.00 annually. Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level
of role. Individual compensation packages are based on various
factors unique to each candidates skill set, experience,
qualifications, equity, and other job-related reasons. Note: USP
