The Project Estimator for CoolSys Energy Solutions (CES) is
responsible for generating accurate customer/project quotes based
off specific details associated with each scope of work and
reflecting all labor/material costs, customer specifications,
published plans, and company guidelines in consultation with
business leaders.

Solutions Project/Business Responsibilities:
- Receives Invitations to Bid from customers and initiates
Requests for Proposal/bid process (RFPs) including downloading
documents, auditing available documents against established
checklists, and disseminating information to appropriate Estimators
.
- Updates Client Relations Management software (CRM) with all key
customer information, bid details, and contact info.
- Interprets scale drawings, construction specifications, textual
scope of work descriptions for customer requirements as well as
architectural & structural as affecting the mechanical scopes of
work. Surveys material quantities against needs reasonably inferred
on the construction documents & specifications.
- Identifies requirements for subcontractors and/or vendors on
the project and solicits those parties' participation.
- Gathers and assembles all data for the cost estimate using
established processes & procedures ensuring an accurate valuation
of expected costs. Applies established labor metrics and adjusts
for anticipated field conditions derived from the interpretation of
project documentation and/or pre-estimating surveys (performed by
others).
- Prepares quotes for Sales/Ops review , including a thorough
analysis of customer needs and specifications, accurate valuation
of expected materials, equipment, labor, and any
subcontractor/vendor costs.
- All other duties as assigned.
People Responsibilities:
- C ommunicate s items of work identified and included in the
cost estimate to the Sales team and executive management as
required . Draft s and provides concise scope of work documents to
Sales for accurate and effective communication of the offered goods
& services to the client.
- Coordinates with vendors & subcontractors to ensure their scope
of work proposals are accurate to the project requirements and
consistent among multiple offerors of the same goods & services.
Qualifications: JOB REQUIREMENTS
Project/Business Management:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School diploma
and 5+ years of experience in Specialty-trades role, such as
Construction Estimation, Jobsite Coordination, Project Management,
etc. Mechanical construction experience in a specialty trade (HVAC,
Refrigeration, Energy Management/Controls) equivalent to a
Journeyman (4+ years) field is a plus .
- Familiar with both basic and advanced mechanical system design
practices.
- Able to manage multiple assignments, setting and balancing
competing priorities with strong organizational skills and
multi-tasking capability.
- Able to solve problems , apply good judgement and make
decisions that have significant impact on the team's credibility,
operations, and service .
- Able to effectively use typical business tools including
E-Mail, Word, Excel, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software,
etc.
- Familiar with a utomated, on-screen takeoff, estimating
software, or drafting software, ( i.e. PlanSwift , Quickpen ,
QuoteSoft , FastEst , AutoCAD, Revit)
- Ability to understand and follow all company policies and
procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
- Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word,
Excel, etc.
People Management:
- Excellent verbal, nonverbal and written communication and
presentation skills.
- Strong customer service skills, including an ability to
proactively address customer issues and concerns and ability to
forge strong working relationships with customers and coworkers.
- Ab le to understand opposing points of view on highly complex

Work Environment
This job operates in a clean, well-lit and climate controlled

fingers. The employee is occasionally required to reach, stoop and

and ability to adjust focus .
