Job Description:

St. Mark School, located in Catonsville, Maryland, is seeking qualified candidates for a Middle School Language Arts teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. The middle school language arts position is one of 3 teachers on our middle school language arts team. The position teaches three sections of 6th grade language arts for 90 minutes per section each day. The middle school language arts teacher also is part of a collaborative middle school department which includes teachers of all middle school courses. The teacher would need to be comfortable with technology integration utilizing chromebooks and G-Suite applications. Job Responsibilities:

• Planning and implementing lessons in alignment with the Archdiocesan curriculum and the rigor of the assigned learning group.
• Efficient and effective assessing of students and evaluation of data for use in guiding instruction.
• Positive and affirming collaboration with students and faculty members.
• Supporting and upholding the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
• Duties may include homeroom assignment, recess, lunch, or other daily or weekly responsibilities.
• Communicates effectively with students, staff, administrators, parents, and community.
• Ongoing professional development related to subject area in addition to catechesisQualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree minimum - Master's preferred
  • Prior teaching experience in Catholic school setting preferred
  • MSDE Certified
  • Experience with elementary/middle school age students and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
  • Strong technology skills
  • Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork.
