Position Location: Remote, North America
Position Summary: The Learning Systems & Analytics Specialist plays
an active role in shaping and executing learning technology
strategies that contribute towards our organization's learning
culture and ecosystem. This role serves as a subject matter expert
in learning platform functionality and capability, learning
ecosystems, learning development, learning data and analytics,
learning record stores, and xAPI. They are a collaborative,
analytical, and creative leader for organization-wide learning and
evaluation efforts. The Learning Systems & Analytics Specialist
support the leadership and management teams toward a deepened
learning orientation and will support the intentional use of data
and insights to inform decision-making about strategy and programs.
This person will help to foster a culture of evaluation,
reflection, and learning to strengthen the agency's creation of
meaningful social change aligned with its priorities and mission.
Learning Platforms:
- Participate in strategic decisions on learning platforms and
technologies in support of PointClickCare's learning
ecosystem.
- Work with CTS and HR Systems to ensure integration and
interoperability between learning platforms.
- Lead the optimization of current learning platforms and the
introduction of enhanced functionality.
- Consult with Learning Program Managers and Instructional
Designer & Developers on best practice usage of learning
platforms
- Research literature and work with learning technology vendor(s)
to leverage the platform(s), increase adoption, identify best
practices, and make recommendations to leadership.
- Manage system releases including coordination with training
initiatives, configuration, communication, and implementation.
- Provide technical support for learning platforms, track
escalated issues and forward to vendor as needed; inform users of
resolution.
- Provide system training as needed.Learning Systems Governance:
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a Learning Systems
Governance framework
- Governance will guidance, structure, and boundaries for a
cross-departmental team to operate, communicate and make
decisions.
- The governance structure will be reviewed at regular intervals
to ensure continued alignment with business needs. Learning Systems
Governance Will:
- Empower and ensures that the right people at the right level
are making the right decisions
- Improved decision making: known decision points, escalation
points, and remediation paths
- Faster resolution of issues
- Manages risks to LMS, LXP & LRS
- Creates better quality assurance for the LMS, LXP & LRS
- Assures LMS, LXP, & LRS alignment with learning strategies and
vision
- Establishes standards and collaboration amongst different
learning teams
- Creates a history of why things have been done
- Will create key governance policies for administration within
the LMS, LXP, & LRS under 3 key areas: Security roles and
permission, support structure, and communication.Learning Data:
- Work in close cooperation with the Learning & Development
Directors to support the creation of a learning data & analytics
framework in support of the learning ecosystem that allows
data-based decision making.
- Set standards for capturing and utilizing business, academic,
learning and predictive analytics.
- Identifies and implements strategies to improve the quality of
learning data.
- Work to develop data models by standardizing data definitions,
vocabularies, data transport mechanisms, and methods of storing and
validating data.
- Work to create a single source of truth for learning data
through the adoption of a learning record store and utilization of
xAPI.
- Create custom xAPI statements as needed to support learning
programs.
- Consult with Learning Program Managers and Instructional
Designer & Developers to assist in identifying program success
metrics.
- Utilize business intelligence tools to develop reports,
visualizations, and interactive web-based dashboards.Instructional
Design & Development:
- Collaborate with Learning Program Managers on preliminary needs
analysis findings to agree on most appropriate solution(s), (i.e.
Classroom, eLearning, virtual synchronous or asynchronous, role
plays, simulations, games, videos, job aid, blend, other digital)
delivery format and evaluation plan to address identified business
need.
- Responsible for the instructional design and eLearning
development of engaging and impactful multi-channel learning and
performance solutions and experiences that are aligned with the
business strategies and identified goals and objectives for
assigned business function.
- Work collaboratively with business SMEs where required to
gather content.
- Create instructional design documents for review and sign off
by all stakeholders.
- Use a wide variety of software/media/tools to develop content
for in class programs, online courses, simulations, webpages,
videos, games, infographics, online communities, message boards,
discussion forums, performance support tools and other print
medium.
- Develop storyboards, scripts, screenshots and other related
materials to develop highly engaging and impactful eLearning
solutions.Qualifications & Skills:
- This individual must be agile, dynamic, and innovative to adapt
to our environment of rapid change.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously,
establish priorities, organize, and plan work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and
ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Master's Degree in Education, Educational Technologies,
Learning Analytics, or related field
- Experience administrating enterprise-wide learning systems
including learning management systems and learning experience
platforms
- Experience working with learning record stores and creating
custom xAPI statements
- Ability to quickly learn other software and systems as required
of the position
- Experience integrating systems with other platforms and
tools
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Ability to analyze data/metrics from multiple systems and help
identify key areas that need attention
- Quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
skills
- Outstanding analytic skills and natural curiosity paired with
an ability to maintain a strategic perspective.
- Demonstrated experience with both the instructional design and
eLearning development of solutions in alignment with adult learning
theories and instructional design methodologies.
- Strong ability to develop content into engaging and accessible
solutions for multichannel delivery.
- Advanced ability using Articulate 360 products including
Storyline & Rise and Captivate 2019.
- Strong knowledge of current and emergent trends in eLearning
development, educational technologies, virtual, social, and mobile
learning.
- Advanced ability to develop SharePoint sites using SharePoint
Designer and SharePoint workflows.
- Advanced ability using other applications such as Zoom, Canva,
Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, SnagIt, Vyond, Audacity and other
video and audio editing tools.
- Advanced ability in voiceover and voice editing
- Ability to complete videography and video editing projects
- Graphic design ability to create custom graphics and edit
graphics
- Advanced ability using Microsoft Office Products (Word,
PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong ability to develop content into engaging and accessible
solutions for multichannel delivery including classroom, online
courses, synchronous/asynchronous, virtual, simulations, webpages,
videos, games, social platforms, mobile and print.
- Strong ability to conduct quality assurance testing of
multichannel solutions against instructional design standards.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and xAPI an asset.
- Knowledge of VR and AR authoring tools preferred.
- Advanced ability using other applications such as Prezi, Visio,
Zoom, Canva, Photoshop, Camtasia, SnagIt, Vyond, Audacity and other
video editing tools.
- Advanced ability using Microsoft Office Products (Word,
PowerPoint, Excel), and the Adobe Master Creative Suite.
- Superior interpersonal, presentation, group facilitation, and
communication (verbal and written) skills
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to produce in a fast-paced environment, remain
