Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization
in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated
Clinical Pharmacist II to become an integral part of our
patient-first healthcare approach. This position will leverage
advanced pharmacological knowledge to enhance medication therapy
management, educate healthcare professionals, and ensure the
provision of high-quality patient care across diverse clinical
settings. The ideal candidate will thrive in our collaborative
environment aimed at innovative healthcare solutions and patient
outcomes. Provide expert advice on medication therapy and
management tailored to individual patient needs. Supervise and
mentor pharmacy staff to enhance departmental performance and
ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with
healthcare teams to devise comprehensive patient care plans.
Participate in clinical research projects and contribute to the
review and implementation of new clinical protocols. Manage the
maintenance and proper dispensing of medications and other
pharmaceutical supplies. Educate patients and healthcare
professionals about drug interactions, potential side effects, and
optimal medication storage practices. Advanced knowledge of
pharmaceutical therapy Strong clinical judgment Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability in team
leadership and staff training Capacity to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously Proficiency with healthcare information technology
systems Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Current
licensure as a pharmacist in the state of practice Board
Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or another recognized
specialty
