Required Train and monitor skills of new and existing Medical
Assistants: - Obtains current patient information including but not
limited to; vital signs, height, weight, specimens, allergies,
reason for visit, chief complaint, medical history updates, and
medication changes, and records iin accordance with OSHA and
universal precautions - Processing instruments and equipment as
needed - Obtaining all necessary patient records as required by the
physician and verifying the presence of consent prior to treatment
- Scheduling appointments as applicable - Assisting in
preauthorization needs - All other duties as assigned. Including
providing medical assistant support to the providers if there is a
staffing need Education Requirements - High school diploma or
equivalent required License/Certification Requirements -
Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical
Assistants - Certification as a medical assistant by the American
Association of Medical Assistants or registration by the American
Medical Technologist, or equivalency - Current CPR certification
required Special Requirements - Certificate of graduation from an
accredited program for Medical Assistants - 3 years experience as a
medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic
setting preferred - Phlebotomy experience required - Performance of
EKG required - Current CPR certification required - Certification
as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical
Assistants or registration by the American Medical Technologist, or
equivalency
