Senior Project Manager) plays a pivotal role in the Chief Technology and Information Office. The position oversees multiple projects which are crucial to modernizing our organizational infrastructure and systems, including transitioning from on-premises to cloud-based solutions. This role demands a proactive and self-directed professional capable of thriving in a dynamic environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation.Currently, this is a remote-first position, and this position may be required to periodically work on-site at our office and the frequency would depend on the department/division's requirements. Therefore, candidates must either reside within a reasonable distance to commute to our office or be willing to travel to our office in Herndon, when required.How You Contribute:

    • Implement Project Management processes based on Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) guidelines across all project phases, including planning, resource allocation, execution, and finalization.
    • Independently determine project requirements, develop project plans, assemble teams, and lead projects from inception to completion within budget and timeline constraints.
    • Conduct thorough data analysis to develop and present strategic recommendations.Communicates Effectively:
      • Prepare comprehensive, understandable communications on project outcomes, options, and recommendations across internal organizational levels and external stakeholders.Be Open and Authentic:

          • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field. A combination of education and experience, including through military service will also be considered.
          • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a professional, collaborative business environment.
          • 7+ years of experience as a project manager in IT.
          • PMP or project management certification, preferred.
          • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage internal stakeholders, senior management, and external clients effectively.
          • Proven ability to lead, motivate teams, build consensus, and negotiate successfully under various circumstances.
          • Extensive knowledge and practical application of Agile methodologies in organizational settings and throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
          • Excellent attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
          • Experience with managing and implementing business enterprise projects on time and on budget.
          • Experience with managing SDLC projects using both waterfall and Agile methodologies.
          • Experience with PMBOK or related methodologies to leverage project and risk management best practices, in project delivery.

          • Must be at least 18 years old.Physical Demands:
            • Use of a computer for 8 or more hours a day.

            • Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
