science.This role, in partnership with the Sr. Project Architect,
Sr. Project Designer, and A+T (Aviation and Transportation)
Planner, is responsible for project financial performance, team
communication, and overseeing the planning, design, and execution
of airport terminals and transportation facilities. The incumbent
manages projects through all phases, directing employees and
consultants to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and
according to the design intent. The position combines project
management and technical planning expertise, leading project teams,
managing client relationships, and contributing to business

disabilities.Responsibilities:Leadership:
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships within the
Project Leadership Team.
- Support project planning and design of transportation
facilities.
- Lead the development of project strategies, methodologies, and
schedules.
- Assist in developing project scope, fee, budget, and scope of
services during marketing and contract negotiations.
- Prepare and/or lead client presentations.
- Ensure effective communication with clients and project teams,
managing projects via Deltek system, including work plans, budgets,
schedules, and change notices.
- Prepare and execute consultant contracts with legal
counsel.
- Negotiate fees and contracts.
- Develop budgets supporting Quality Management and incorporate
sustainable design solutions.
- Promote a green workplace through sustainable practices.
- Foster a culture of excellent client service.Management:
- Coordinate with Project Architects to prevent schedule
conflicts.
- Organize and manage projects, maintaining ongoing communication
through meetings and updates.
- Communicate effectively with consultants, contractors, and
disciplines involved.
- Monitor construction during the construction phase.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and
consultants.Client Interface:
- Maintain client relationships, keeping them informed of
progress.
- Consult with clients to determine functional and spatial
requirements, and prepare related information.
- Lead client presentations and project reviews.Business
Development:
- Contribute to annual business planning.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop current client
relationships.
- Participate in marketing and business development
activities.
- Assist in developing fee proposals.Staff Development:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
- Define staffing needs and recommend promotions or
terminations.
- Participate in hiring processes.Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent; Master's
preferred.
- 18+ years in architectural practice, with management
experience.
- 10+ years in programming and planning of transportation
facilities.
- Licensed Architect, with NCARB registration preferred.
- LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.Skills &
Competencies:
- Passion for planning and designing transportation
facilities.
- Knowledge of airport/airfield design regulations and technical
requirements.
- Experience with airport planning, design, construction
documents, and cost control.
- Strong teamwork, communication, leadership, and
relationship-building skills.
- Deep understanding of architectural systems, sustainability,
and LEED guidelines.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Deltek Vision, and Revit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Other:
- Travel and overtime may be required.
- Job duties may be amended at any time.
- Salary range in Washington D.C.: $130,000 - $150,000.HOK offers
