Job Description:
Job Objective and Mission: The Little Sisters of the Poor seek a
full-time Development Director to head our ongoing fundraising and
operational needs. Reporting to the Mother Superior, this
professional must have an established background in coordinating
nonprofit donation strategies and staff/volunteer leadership. This
role involves supervising large-scale fundraising initiatives,
working with board members, managing our annual fund and building
relationships with donors, staff and volunteers. The Development
Director will also assist with implementing major giving and
planned giving fundraising strategies. Our ideal candidate will
have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of fund
development experience in nonprofit fields. They should also be
familiar with donor databases and other fundraising technology to
use in their daily job duties. General Responsibilities: Planning
and evaluating fundraising campaigns and activities. Managing the
organization's budget and fundraising income programs. Identifying
and stewarding prospective donors. Recruiting and training
fundraising staff and volunteer leaders. Staying on top of
fundraising trends and the nonprofit community. Communicating with
donors and staff via email, phone or social media. Answering donor
and staff inquiries in a timely fashion. Using prospect research
tools and your donor database to build donor relationships.
Creating solicitation materials for the fundraising team.
Qualifications: Possession of Bachelor's Degree from am accredited
four-year institution with a major in business, communications,
public relations or marketing. An advanced degree from an
accredited institution or CFRE credentials is highly recommended.
Seven years of recent, successful experience gained while working
in a similar executive-level capacity directing campaigns (annual,
capital, etc.). A proven demonstrated record of cultivating,
fostering and maintaining mutually rewarding business relationships
is essential. Strong organizational ability, ability to meet
deadlines, and work well under pressure. Solid computer skills.
Familiarity with spreadsheets. Ability to meet people with ease.
Strong writing and editing skills. Possession of a valid driver's
license. Other qualifications to be discussed at interview. Work
Environment: Work is performed in all areas of the Home, primarily
indoors, but at times may attend meetings/seminars outside the Home
or participate in outdoor activities conducted by the Home. Work
environment is well-lighted, clean and suitable to the tasks
performed by the employee within temperature control standards that
govern a skilled care facility. Employment Type: Full Time Salary:
$30 - $38 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
