Job Description:

St. Mark School, located in Catonsville, MD, seeks a qualified candidate for the position of 8 th Grade Religion and Social Studies teacher. The teacher is responsible for Religion and Social Studies instruction for the 8 th grade students. This teacher will also have an 8 th grade homeroom. The 8 th grade Religion and Social Studies teacher plans, organizes, and implements the instructional program in a Catholic learning environment where every child is recognized as a unique child of God. This is a full-time position that follows the school calendar beginning in August 2023. Join our talented team of educators! Job Responsibilities:

• Safely and actively supervises students both inside and outside of the classroom
• Provides grade-appropriate instructional program for 8 th grade students that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
• Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan guidelines.
• Observe and assess student progress, keep detailed records observing student behavior and progress and share with parents.
• Communicate in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
• Attend all faculty meetings, professional development days, and workshops.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Theology or related discipline
  • Active, practicing Roman Catholic
  • Current MSDE certification or ability to achieve required certification
  • Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals, and objectives
  • Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching
  • Knowledge of technology use and integration
